We now seek an ICT & Security Design Engineer to be based out of our London, Newcastle or Bicester office.
Role responsibilities: Responsible for the production of Security & ICT infrastructure design packages, such as, written report documents, drawings, schematics, schedules, technical specifications, procurement packs.
Responsible for carrying out Threat, Vulnerability And Risk Assessments for client projects.
Responsible for advising and interpreting client requirements in security planning.
Keeping abreast of developments in the security and ICT marketplace.
Responsible for design of CCTV systems including Field of View planning, camera analytics and software planning.
Reviews status advised by project personnel and external parties and modifies schedules or plans as required.
Prepares project reports for Management, Client or others.
Represents Company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams and contractors' teamsSupport the delivery of projects in accordance with the expectations of the RED Project Delivery Process from a Project Management, Financial Management, QA/QC and Technical Review perspectiveDay to day decision making on project progress and direct liaison with, and provides advice to clientDevelopment of 2D CAD design drawings and 3D Revit models in collaboration with the BIM department.
An emphasis upon design coordination and clash detection is important.
Representing RED ICT at technical meetings with customers, professional design teams and contractor teamsEnsures specifications, drawings and calculations meet industry, legal and quality standardsTakes holistic view in the selection and application of ICT & Security infrastructure design concepts and solutionsCoordination of Security & ICT design with related engineering disciplines, e.g.
electrical and mechanicalWork towards a timely successful team output and productionDevelop a clear understanding of client requirements from both a technical and operational standpoint Role Requirements: Either: Engineering degree in appropriate Security & ICT infrastructure design engineering discipline with at least a minimum 2 years' appropriate experience.
Or: A-Level secondary education, HNC/HND or CNIDP plus at minimum 4 years appropriate experience.
Appropriate experience includes: Data cabling manufacture/contractingIT /IP network systems integrationNetwork technology vendor/manufacturerIT/Multi-disciplinary consulting firmConstruction project management Desirable Previous project experience in Security & ICT infrastructure for data centre construction; commercial building construction ICT infrastructureHyperscale Data Centre Design experienceTechnical qualifications and design experience in the following technologiesStructured Cabling SystemsFibre Optic NetworksData Cabling containment systemsLAN Ethernet SwitchingWi-Fi Network CommunicationsTelecommunication Network Infrastructure and ServicesAccess Control design, including biometricsCCTV design, including analyticsIndustry qualifications such as Cisco CCNA, CNet training, BicsiAppreciation of the Security & ICT implications related to MEP building services, network security engineering and power supply and cooling systems Ability to use to a high competency level, AutoCAD and Bluebeam (production of overlay drawings, schematics and markups)Working knowledge of Revit is desirable but not essentialNavigation and interpretation of Navisworks models desirable, but not essentialFamiliarity with BIM levels and processesUnderstanding of design and construction stages from conception to practical completion and LoD requiredGood working knowledge of MS Office applications Word, Excel, Visio etc.
