As Head of Trading, you will define and deliver our trading and quantitative strategy across UK power, gas, and environmental markets. This is your opportunity to build a best-in-class algorithmic trading platform, lead high-performing teams, and drive real impact within one of Europe's leading energy companies.
What You'll Do
- Define and execute trading strategies across linear and non-linear products in UK power, gas, and environmental certificate markets.
- Drive asset-backed trading optimisation for renewable energy (wind/solar) and battery storage portfolios to maximise flexibility value.
- Lead the development of a scalable quantitative and algorithmic trading platform, accelerating automation and systematic execution.
- Develop and scale market-making and liquidity provision activities to strengthen ENGIE's competitive position.
- Collaborate with Origination and Portfolio Management teams to structure monetisation strategies for renewable and storage assets.
- Build, inspire, and develop multi-disciplinary teams across trading, quantitative analytics, and algorithmic development.
- Ensure all trading activities operate within approved governance, compliance, and risk frameworks.
What You Bring
- Significant experience in energy trading and/or quantitative trading environments.
- Deep understanding of UK and European power and gas markets, including intraday dynamics and flexibility value.
- Proven track record in asset-backed trading, RES/BESS optimisation, and market-making strategies.
- Advanced knowledge of algorithmic trading, pricing models, forecasting tools, and data science applications.
- Demonstrated leadership of trading and quantitative teams in fast-paced environments.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
- An advanced degree (MSc/PhD) in a quantitative field is highly advantageous.
