Are you passionate about ensuring the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated H&S Manager to join our dynamic team within the Renewables & Batteries business unit, covering the UK and Ireland

In this role, you will work closely with the Head of Asset Management – R&B, to ensure all operational entities adhere to ENGIE's HSE standards. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering our HSE strategy and fostering a culture of safety and sustainability

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects Health and Safety performance in all operating assets
  • Provide oversight to construction teams on all aspects Health and Safety performance and management in assets under construction .
  • Assist with the attaining and maintaining of ISO accreditations.
  • Assist with and contribute to Due Diligence studies for new acquisitions.
  • Support Business Development regarding Health and Safety requirements.
  • Provide advice to Business Development and Project teams in order to help them comply with their duties under CDM 2015 Regulations and equivalent regulations in Republic of Ireland .
  • Assist in the development of key performance indicators, both pro-active and re-active.
  • Produce Health and Safety reports as required.
  • Carry out regular site audits and inspections and provide feedback to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Follow trends in Health and Safety performance and suggest initiatives to deliver ongoing improvement.
  • Assist, where required, with accident and incident investigations.
  • Ensure the consistent application of Company policies on Health and Safety.
  • Demonstrate good levels of communication both internally and externally to the organisation.
  • Participate in external networking and benchmarking as appropriate.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent good working knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation, principles and practice
  • Good communication skills

  • Good written skills and be fully computer literate – PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good problem solving and dispute resolution skills

Experience:

  • Experience of carrying out a Health and Safety role ideally in the process and/or construction industry
  • Experience of managing HSE teams supervising Wind , Solar and BESS assets , under construction and operation
  • Demonstrable track record on managing and improving HSE standards and parameters across assets under construction and operation
  • Experience of implementing the requirements of the UK CDM Regulations and equivalent regulations in Republic of Ireland
  • Experience of Health and Safety auditing

Qualifications:

  • An accredited Professional Health and Safety qualification – essential.
  • A recognised Fire Risk Assessor qualification – desirable.
