Job Description
We are excited to invite a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to join our Finance team at our Storengy site based in Cheshire
This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a finance graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis within a supportive and dynamic team environment. You will play a crucial role in helping our business make informed decisions through accurate financial insights and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Monitoring: Help monitor departmental and project-level costs to ensure alignment with budgetary targets. Analyse cost variances, identify trends or anomalies, and provide recommendations to improve cost efficiency and financial performance.
- Budgeting Support: Assist in the annual budgeting process and rolling forecasts by collecting inputs, validating assumptions, and preparing financial models. Support scenario analysis to aid strategic planning and decision-making.
- Financial Statements: Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and assist in the annual audit process by compiling supporting documentation, responding to auditor queries, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
- Compliance: Ensure that financial activities comply with internal policies and external regulations. Maintain documentation for financial procedures and controls, and support efforts to strengthen financial governance.
- Special Projects: Participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial analysis as required. This may include profitability analysis, investment appraisals, or supporting business cases for new initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across finance and other departments to gather data, share insights, and support cross-functional initiatives. Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
