Responsibilities:

  • Operate and monitor the AD plant independently during night shifts.
  • Conduct regular physical checks and monitor plant performance.
  • Communicate promptly with on-call Plant Operators and Regional Plant Manager to resolve issues.
  • Coordinate with the maintenance team for timely repairs.
  • Perform minor mechanical maintenance tasks.
  • Operate the weighbridge (training provided).
  • Accurately record operational and maintenance events in the company database.
  • Prepare routine performance reports.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in covering annual leave and absences of colleagues.

Experience:

  • Experienced in operating similar operational sites or possess broad maintenance experience.
  • Comfortable with night shifts and lone working.
  • Excellent understanding of environmental and commercial issues impacting plant operations.
  • Proficient in monitoring via computer technology.
  • Full UK driving licence holder.
  • Skilled in operating telehandler/tractor/forklift (training provided).
  • Strong IT skills with good numerical, analytical, and diagnostic abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of health and safety regulations and compliance.
  • Quick problem-solver with the ability to make prompt decisions.
  • Positive, proactive, and reliable team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Resilient and self-motivated, capable of working under own initiative.

Role specifics:

This is a night based role working 2496 hours per annum, with a shift pattern as agreed with the Regional Plant Manager (6pm to 6am) including weekends. The annualised hours include the shift pattern of 4 x 12 hour shifts on a four on/four off basis, plus training and additional days due to the rota pattern. There is also a requirement to provide holiday cover for your team when required.
