We are now seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our Bicester office.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for running medium‑sized projects and ensuring they meet the required functional specifications and customer requirements.
- Act as a client‑facing lead in the development, design, and coordination of electrical installation services for buildings and facilities.
- Develop and specify applications of controls, instruments, and operating systems for all building engineering services.
- Survey, test and report on existing electrical installations.
- Make day‑to‑day decisions on project progress and liaise directly with clients while providing expert advice.
- Represent the company at technical meetings with customers, professional teams, and contractor teams.
- Carry out engineering calculations to ensure drawings meet robust industry and legal standards.
- Oversee the technical content and accuracy of the work produced by trainees, graduates, and engineers.
- Validate and check designs and specifications for compliance.
Qualifications
- BEng, MSc, or equivalent with sufficient experience.
- MCIBSE/MIEE or HNC/HND + appropriate experience, or equivalent.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Competent in specification design/drawing for several building types.
- Sound knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Ability to use IT‑based calculation and spreadsheet software.
- Good understanding of BS standards.
- Strong prioritisation and deadline‑management skills.

- Background in consulting or construction preferred.
- Understanding of international working and business operations of a global consultancy.
