As a Technical Engineer - Development in our Renewables GBU, you will play a crucial role in expanding our portfolio of wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems across the UK and Ireland. Summary Of What You Will Do
- Screen and design early-stage development sites for renewable energy projects
- Provide technical inputs for financial modelling and project optimisation
- Manage engineering aspects of projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams
- Develop employer requirements for EPC contracts and review tenders
- Support construction, testing, and commissioning of renewable energy installations
- Conduct or oversee basic and detailed design studies for PV, wind, and BESS projects
- Liaise with grid operators to monitor connection costs and requirements
What You Will Bring To The Role
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in concept design for solar PV or wind sites
- Strong commercial awareness of project economics, including CAPEX and OPEX
- Proven track record in project management or lead engineer roles
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
- Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
- Knowledge of CAD design and experience in civil works for renewable energy projects (preferred)
- Familiarity with the technical aspects of solar PV, wind, or BESS markets (desirable)
Job Based In London, UK, with occasional travel to sites in the UK and Ireland. This position offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining office-based and remote work.
