Role Overview:
As a Strategic Sourcing Lead, you will play a crucial role in procuring high-value goods and services, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery in line with best practices.
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will manage both CAPEX and OPEX procurement activities, focusing on categories such as IT consulting, MRO, agency training, and equipment PPE.
Additionally, you will assist the Head of Procurement in driving procurement excellence.This includes collaborating with the data analyst to gather and analyse data for reports, ensuring compliance with CSR and HSE standards, and mentoring and supporting junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing (80%):
- Proactively procure high-value goods and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with ENGIE\’s Code of Conduct.
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing contracts.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Mentor and develop junior procurement staff.
Procurement Excellence & Data Analytics (20%):
- Develop and maintain dashboards and visual management tools using Power BI.
- Support decision-making with data-driven insights.
- Lead Digitisation initiatives to enhance procurement operations.
What Weβre Looking For:
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Proficiency in IT systems and procurement ERP systems (SAP/Ariba preferred).
- Strong Microsoft 365 skills; familiarity with Power BI or Power Automate is a plus.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of marketplace and new suppliers.
- Understanding of Contract Law, Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience:
- 5-7 years of procurement experience, including IT, consultancy, FM, travel, and high-value contracts.
- Proven ability to deliver process improvements and automation.
- Knowledge of standard consultancy contracts, licensing contracts, and service contracts.
- Experience with SAP Ariba and CAPEX procurement is desirable.
- Qualifications:
- Degree in a relevant field.
- Full driving license and own transport.
- Chartered Status Professional Qualifications (CIPS) or willingness to work towards it (desirable).
This is a hybrid role ideally assigned to our London office, however weekly travel to Cheshire (one day per week) is also expected.
