As a Production Assistant, you are at the heart of that effort. You support the people and processes that keep our power station performing safely and efficiently. Summary Of What You Will Do
- Assist electrical and mechanical craft workers, technicians, riggers, and scaffolders in their daily duties.
- Maintain housekeeping standards across all power station buildings, plant, and equipment.
- Perform routine manual tasks, minor repairs, and basic operation of workshop power equipment.
- Manage environmental responsibilities including hazardous waste, solvent storage, water courses, and legionella monitoring.
- Operate forklift trucks, MEWPs, cranes, hoists, and winches safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Carry out plant, auxiliary, and vehicle inspections, recording findings in the computerised works management system.
- Uphold safety responsibilities under National Grid Company Safety Rules and relevant EH&S legislation.
What You Will Bring To The Role
- Practical experience working to safety procedures in an industrial environment.
- Hands-on experience with handheld power tools, workshop machines, and lifting equipment.
- Valid forklift truck licence and overhead crane operating licence.
- Full driving licence.
- Working knowledge of LOLER and PUWER statutory requirements.
- IOSH Working Safely Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Strong attention to detail, accurate record-keeping skills, and the ability to communicate clearly at all levels.
Desirable qualifications include a MEWP Driving Certificate, a recognised site safety qualification, or a CISRS Scaffolding Labourer card.
Location
This is an on-site role based at Ffestiniog Power Station. You may be required to work across other FHC sites as operational needs arise.
