Engineer – Technical Strategy
At ENGIE, we\’re on a mission to accelerate the transition towards a carbon-neutral world. As an Engineer – Technical Strategy at our Dinorwig and Ffestiniog power stations, you\’ll play a crucial role in managing and delivering our investment programme, ensuring the continued efficiency and reliability of these vital energy assets.
This role will provide support in the delivery and oversight of the investment programme for Dinorwig and Ffestiniog Power Stations. This includes conducting critical reviews and monitoring the progress of individual work packages to ensure effective integration and alignment with overall programme objectives. Through detailed analysis of project and scheme data, the role enables First Hydro Company to maintain a comprehensive understanding of programme status and schedule integrity. The insights generated will inform strategic planning and decision-making at a senior level.
What You Will Do
- Assist in developing and delivering plant refurbishment and replanting projects
- Analyse suppliers, consultants, and contractors\’ programmes to support safe, cost-effective project delivery
- Monitor work package delivery and integration through critical analysis of project information
- Contribute to the construction, forecasting, and monitoring of budgetary programmes
- Support the implementation of quality, environmental, health, and safety initiatives
- Assist in presenting and updating the overall replant programme roadmap
What You Will Have
- Holder of a relevant degree in a technical discipline or equivalent qualifications/experience
- IOSH Managing Safety certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, SharePoint, and project management software (MS Project or Primavera)
- Experience working to deadlines in a structured work process environment
- Knowledge of the power generation industry or similar sector
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- APMP or PRINCE2 certification (desirable)
