Assistant Station Manager

As the Assistant Station Manager with a key focus on our Ffestiniog Pumped Hydro Power Station, you\’ll play a crucial role in driving operational excellence and innovation in renewable energy generation.
What You Will Do
- Provide visible leadership at the Ffestiniog Pumped Hydro generation asset
- Manage daily operations and engage with stakeholders to deliver business plan objectives
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, technical requirements, and quality systems
- Drive station performance in reliability, financial control, and commercial delivery
- Coordinate activities on site and provide services to the System Operator
- Develop and implement business objectives and KPIs aligned with First Hydro targets
- Manage and improve Health & Safety culture and performance on site
What You Will Bring To The Role
- An experienced professional with a degree in engineering or equivalent
- A skilled leader with a track record in power plant operations and maintenance
- A strong problem‑solving and analytical skill set
- Knowledge of Quality, Environmental, Health, and Safety legislation
- A communicator who can adapt to various stakeholders, from staff to senior management
- Commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- An adaptable team player with the ability to learn and handle complex situations
- Ideally, a Chartered Membership of an engineering institution and formal management qualifications

Ffestiniog, North Wales – On‑site role
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and have been a resident in the UK for the last 5 years to apply for this role as it will be subject to National Security Vetting.
