Engage talent Partners are supporting our international client to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer to join their Sales team, based in Aberdeen South.
Reporting to the Sales Manager you will be responsible for supporting sales through coordination of quotations, customer communications, and technical enquiries.
The role is heavily involved with customer facing interactions, liaising between customers, sales, engineering, and operations teams, and the preparation of proposals and any required supportive documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of technical proposals, quotations, presentations, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure quotations, drawings, and technical documents are accurate, complete, and aligned with company quality policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and monitor sales enquiries from initial receipt through to quotation and purchase order placement.
- Conduct research into customers, markets, industries, and potential business opportunities.
- Assist in identifying potential new customers, markets, and regions for business development activities.
- Support the sales team with market intelligence and information on potential leads and opportunities.
- Attend seminars, trade exhibitions, training sessions, and other relevant industry events as required.
- Assist with the preparation of marketing materials and customer presentations.
- Prepare and maintain regular reports on sales enquiries, quotations, opportunities, and market activity.
- Provide accurate sales pipeline information and updates to the Head of Sales and relevant stakeholders.
- Support the preparation of monthly KPI reports.
- Assist with business forecasting and analysis of sales opportunities.
- Monitor and report on potential leads, market performance, and factors contributing to successful new business opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of sales coordination and enquiry management processes.
- Support the implementation of improved systems and processes for managing technical sales enquiries and customer information.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a sales coordination or technical sales role, experience of an engineering or manufacturing background, and prior knowledge of the supporting of quotations and sales processes.
You will also be proactive and keen to engage with customers and internal teams, hold strong organisation skills, and knowledge of technical sales processes.
A working knowledge of CAD, or other technical software, and an engineering or technical qualification would be desirable but not essential.
