Sourcing Specialist

Engage Talent Partners are partnering with our Aberdeen-based client to source a Sourcing Specialist.

Our client is a well-established company experiencing significant growth and is looking for a conscientious and driven candidate to join their team.

The successful candidate will serve as the primary contact for current and potential suppliers while developing supply chain processes. They will play a key role in researching, analysing, and evaluating suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyse marketplace data on vendors, manufacturers and suppliers to provide informed recommendations.
• Oversee supply chain processes for assigned commodities, optimising inventory strategies.
• Negotiate contracts, including terms, pricing, conditions and lead times.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions when needed.
• Manage RFQ blanket preparation, distribution and re-bidding processes.
• Maintain and update pricing and lead times in purchasing databases.
• Identify opportunities for supplier automation and product standardisation.
• Serve as the primary contact for supply chain issues, collaborating with internal teams and suppliers.
• Stay up to date with market trends, economic forecasts and competitive intelligence.
• Lead supplier negotiations, engineering standardisation meetings and category strategy development.

The ideal candidate will be analytical and strategic, with a strong background in supply chain and vendor management. You should have excellent conflict management skills, the ability to build lasting relationships and solid business acumen. A proven track record in contract negotiation and implementation, along with experience in multiple purchasing and ERP systems, is essential.
