Engage Talent are working on a Retained Search Partnership Agreement to recruit a Chief Financial Officer based in Aberdeen. Our client is a private equity funded, growth-focused, clean energy business headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland. The company has been established to deliver commercially viable energy infrastructure projects that support industrial decarbonisation and the broader transition to a low-carbon economy. With two major projects already underway representing a combined value of approximately £1.5 billion, the business has moved beyond concept stage and into active delivery. They have a defined strategy with future projects planned across the UK, Europe and the Middle East.
This is a pivotal, hands-on Chief Financial Officer position in a scale-up organisation. You will work directly with the Board and Investors to design and implement the financial architecture of the business, supporting immediate project delivery while enabling long-term scale and international expansion.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead financial strategy aligned to long-term growth objectives.
- Drive M&A activity including acquisitions, divestments, due diligence, structuring and integration.
- Lead project lifecycle financing from development through construction to operation.
- Develop and manage advanced investment and project finance models.
- Secure and structure equity and debt funding.
- Oversee UK taxation planning and compliance.
- Advise on international taxation matters.
- Establish scalable governance frameworks, reporting structures and internal controls.
- Provide commercially robust analysis to inform strategic decisions.
Applicants will be degree-qualified and hold a recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent). The successful candidate will bring demonstrable board or senior-level experience, with deep expertise in M&A, tax structuring, and project finance, together with international operating experience.
An executive-level remuneration package is on offer, commensurate with the seniority and strategic importance of the role.
