Engage Talent Partners are working with our client to source a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer.

Our client is an innovative company with a global client base covering oil and gas, renewables and defence and are looking for a passionate engineer who is looking for a new challenge in an environment that will offer progression, development and excellent benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and mentor the design engineering team to deliver innovative, cost-effective solutions across product development, live projects, and cost-reduction initiatives, ensuring alignment with customer specifications, industry standards, and competitive tendering requirements.
  2. Design products from initial concept stage through to production in a professional and time efficient manner.
  3. Producing 3D CAD Models and Detail Drawings to provide solutions in accordance with clients’ requirements.
  4. Produce technical reports detailing work completed and the products produced, including but not limited to engineering calculations, Finite Element Analysis and CFD.
  5. Assist in the development of company design systems, standards and procedures.
  6. Contribute development ideas for new and existing products.
  7. Support work for proposals and projects working to tight deadlines.
  8. Drive continuous improvement by enhancing product design, performance, processes, and tools to ensure optimal efficiency and effectiveness.

Minimum Requirements:

The ideal candidate for the role will have a degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering and exposure to producing innovative engineering solutions; however, our client is open to those with a HND and 5 years relevant post-work experience. You will have a minimum of 1 year experience in a leadership role, mentoring lesser experienced engineers and have a forward-thinking approach. You will also be comfortable using 3D CAD and Finite Element Analysis software such as Inventor (or similar), Ansys, and MathCAD. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experience is desirable but not essential.
