As a key member of the local plant management team, you will lead a team dedicated to supporting production and maintenance by resolving issues and enhancing production processes. Your daily focus will include monitoring energy consumption and addressing deviations. This role emphasises long-term (CAPEX) projects and investments in collaboration with the HQ Engineering team. Additionally, you will work with divisional Engineering to establish and develop technical standards for the plant, ensuring efficient production of high-quality insulation products for the UK and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion the health, safety, and well-being of staff by developing methods to engage the team in improving safety standards from design conception to daily practice, demonstrating that safety is the top priority.
- Lead, manage, develop, and coach team members to ensure high performance.
- Facilitate communication between teams, internal business partners, and key stakeholders.
- Monitor and adjust process stability as needed.
- Analyze performance and develop solutions for continuous improvement in methods, procedures, and machine enhancements.
- Implement new tools (PLCs, production line, industrial equipment) and improve industrial practices and processes through needs definition, process mapping, and flow optimization.
- Collaborate with the Central Engineering Team at HQ on CAPEX projects.
- Lead energy management efforts by monitoring consumption and reporting variances.
- Coordinate plant data collection and audit the plant for CO2 emissions and greenhouse gases.
- Monitor and manage department budgets.
- Work with engineering, compliance, H&S, finance, and HR teams on various projects as needed.
Essential Skills:
- 10+ years of engineering leadership experience in a manufacturing engineering environment.
- Proficiency in lean and/or other relevant methodologies.
- Effective communication skills.
- Data analysis and production knowledge.
