Overview

Planned preventative maintenance, fault finding and repair of manufacturing machinery. Key role in contributing to the improvement of Health and Safety within each division and Maintenance Department.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day running of the maintenance department.
  • Manage the safe and efficient running of the manufacturing process.
  • Execute maintenance procedures and prioritise all work in line with programme needs and production availability.
  • Complete regular checks and testing on all plant to ensure they are operating within specification and recorded appropriately.
  • Root cause analysis and resolution of any manufacturing losses related to planned maintenance and supply of machinery components.
  • Ensure critical spares are maintained and that repairs are conducted promptly and efficiently.
  • Liaise and support on site contractors as and when required.
  • Work a two shift pattern consisting of an early and a back shift.
  • Support the Division's Apprenticeship programme by mentoring and educating the Division's Apprentices.
  • Maintain time and attendance to company standards.
  • Observe the Health and Safety regulations laid down in company procedures and government legislation.

All employees may be required to carry out other tasks as necessary for the business. These tasks will be appropriate to their skills and experience and will not be unreasonable.

Qualifications

  • 18th Edition qualified.
  • Hold a recognised qualification, C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing.
  • Pasma/IPAF/18th Edition or electrically competent (certified).
  • BTEC HND/HNC certificate and diploma in operations and maintenance engineering or a city & guilds certificate in engineering.

Skills

  • Have a logical & methodical approach to fault finding/knowledge of PLC fault finding.
  • Prioritisation skills.
  • Must be organised and have good organisation skills.
  • Possess mechanical/electrical experience.
  • Possess excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Have good knowledge and awareness of regulatory compliance.
  • Electrical/mechanical fault finding.
  • Pump experience.
  • CNC machinery.
  • Welding/machining.

Working hours

37.5 hours, Monday - Friday, 2 shift pattern. Early shift 06:30am-14:30pm, Back shift 14:30pm-22:15pm.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience.
  • Experience conducting machine installations.
  • Experience working with inverters/drives not required but would be desirable.
