Are you an experienced Estimating Manager looking for more than simply your next estimating role? We are working exclusively with an established and highly respected construction business to appoint an Estimating Manager to join its operation based either in Glasgow or the North of England. This business has grown exponentially in the last few years and is poised for the next level of growth. This is a particularly interesting opportunity for an ambitious Estimating Manager who wants greater influence, autonomy and a genuine route into estimating senior leadership.

Working across a varied portfolio of high value construction projects, you'll take ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to final submission, negotiation and handover. You'll work closely with clients, consultants, operational teams and an established supply chain to develop commercially competitive, technically robust solutions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading complex tenders from enquiry to submission
  • Leading the estimating team
  • Producing detailed analytical estimates and contract preliminaries
  • Managing subcontractor and supplier enquiries and analysing returns
  • Identifying tender risks, opportunities and value-engineering solutions
  • Contributing to and presenting at tender adjudications
  • Working closely with operational, commercial and pre-construction teams
  • Supporting client tender interviews and post-tender negotiations
  • Helping shape estimating best practice and improve tender performance

What we're looking for:

  • You'll already be an experienced Senior Estimator or Estimating Manager within ideally a main contractor, refurbishment or general construction environment.
  • You'll combine strong technical estimating knowledge with commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge, influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience of pricing refurbishment and/or Design & Build projects would be particularly relevant.
  • You'll be comfortable working on high value tier 1 contracts.
  • Most importantly, we're looking for someone with the potential and ambition to progress into a senior estimating leadership role in the next couple of years.

What's on offer?

  • £70,000–£95,000 basic salary, depending on experience
  • Car allowance
  • Private healthcare
  • Employer pension contribution
  • Excellent holiday entitlement
  • Hybrid/flexible working
  • Professional development
  • Clear longer-term career progression

In the last few years the business has grown exponentially and they are poised for continued significant growth in terms of locations, contracts and financial success. This isn't simply about filling another seat in an estimating team. It's an opportunity to join an established construction business where you can make an impact, develop your leadership responsibilities and potentially take the next significant step in your career.
