Part-Time Early Years Practitioner (Keyworker)

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Nursery Practitioner to

come and join our Nursery team in Chichester. You will be working in a Nursery School with children aged 3-4 and will be Keyworker for a group of up to 13 children with overall responsibility for nurturing, observing and assessing the learning of a small group of children, although in a free-flow setting this is a shared responsibility as well.

The successful applicant will be an excellent Early Years practitioner, with a strong understanding of how children learn in a free-flow environment and have a sound knowledge of how to support and extend children’s learning through planned learning experiences, as well as “in the moment”. They will also be confident in assessing children’s progress and identifying gaps and next steps in their development.

The 24hours a week are worked as 5 mornings a week, from 8.30am-1.00pm, which includes an hour supporting the children during lunchtime. The hours also include an hour and a half staff meeting on Wednesdays from 4-5.30pm.

Applicants should be qualified to at least Level 3 in Early Years and Childcare and have a minimum of two years’ experience as a Keyworker in a childcare setting.

  • Relevant childcare qualification (minimum Level 3 in Early Years Education or equivalent).
  • Experience working with children aged 3–5 in an EYFS setting.
  • Warm, patient, and motivated approach to supporting young learners.
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
