Supply Exam Invigilators - Lancing

At Engage, we know that a school runs on quality support staff. We’re looking to increase our pool of Exam Invigilators we can offer to these great secondary schools. We work with a variety of schools who require regular support staff to cover absence, course cover and to provide additional support to their students. Working on this basis can often lead to longer term opportunities and provide you with experience working in a variety of different environments. This can also increase your experience with different special educational needs and disabilities.

About the role:

Duties will include admitting candidates to the examination rooms in a quiet and orderly way, handing out and collection of examination materials and being constantly vigilant whilst an examination is running, ensuring that the conduct of the exam takes place within the stipulated guidelines. The role requires excellent customer service skills, including effective and confident communication, the ability to work in a team and to multi-task. You must also be able to enforce regulations firmly but fairly if necessary and deal effectively and promptly with any problem. Flexibility, reliability and an eye for detail are essential.

This is a fantastic opportunity for applicants who are looking to work in schools in the future and wanting to gain more experience. We also offer a Trainee Teaching Assistant programme. The students and staff that you’ll be working with will require you to be quick on your feet getting used to a new environment, and to react quickly to changing situations. The schools of Brighton and Hove and the surrounding areas are diverse and supportive and easily accessible by public transport.
