Early Years Practitioners (Baby Room) (working with children from 6 months to 2 years)
About the Role
Working hours are:
36 hours per week
- 9.30am to 5pm each day (with a half an hour unpaid lunchbreak), plus an hour from 5-6pm for the weekly staff meeting on a Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm.
33.5 hours per week
- Working hours are 9am to 4pm each day (with a half an hour unpaid lunchbreak), plus an hour from 5-6pm for the weekly staff meeting on a Wednesday from 5pm to 6pm.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Baby Room Lead to come and join our Nursery team in Bognor Regis. You will be working in a Nursery School with children aged 6 months to 2 years old. Overall responsibility for nurturing, observing and assessing the learning of a small group of children, although in a free-flow setting this is a shared responsibility as well.
The successful applicant will be an excellent Early Years practitioner, with a strong understanding of how children learn in a free-flow environment and have a sound knowledge of how to support and extend children’s learning through planned learning experiences, as well as “in the moment”. They will also be confident in assessing children’s progress and identifying gaps and next steps in their development.
Applicants should be qualified to at least Level 3 in Early Years and Childcare and have a minimum of two years’ experience as a Keyworker in a childcare setting.

- Level 3 childcare qualification (or equivalent).
- Experience in working with infants and toddlers in a childcare setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for early years education and child development.
- Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
