Engage Education is currently recruiting for a caring and motivated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated school team in Worthing from September 2026. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational journey of pupils with additional needs. The successful candidate will support students both inside and outside the classroom, helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed.

About the role

  • Supporting students with additional learning, communication, and behavioural needs
  • Working on a 1:1 basis and with small groups of pupils
  • Assisting with personalised learning programmes and interventions
  • Promoting pupil wellbeing, independence, and self-esteem
  • Supporting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Helping to manage behaviour positively and consistently
  • Contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

About you

  • Experience working with children with SEN is advantageous
  • Positive, flexible, and proactive approach
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
  • Passion for helping children achieve their potential
  • Good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
  • Relevant education or care-based experience is welcomed
