Engage Education are working with multiple secondary school SEN departments in the Wigan area who are eager to secure fantastic Trainee Teaching Assistants to provide outstanding 1:1 & small group SEN support to children with complex learning difficulties.

Role Information

  • Conducting specifically tailored 1:1 & small group support for children with SEN
  • Creating warm and inspiring atmosphere for children throughout school day
  • Creating and sustaining meaningful rapport with students
  • Communicating with colleagues and reporting to school SENCO
  • Located in one Wigan secondary school for full academic year

Benefits

  • Paid £55 – £80 per day during term time
  • Monday to Friday role from September 2026 to July 2027

  • Guaranteed TA qualification pending completion of 11 month course
  • Option to join school permanently pending course completion

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children in any capacity
  • Psychology, Education Studies or Neuroscience graduates desirable
  • Naturally outgoing and engaging individual with interest in teaching
  • Enhanced DBS on update service desirable but NOT mandatory
  • Open to full‑time work beginning September 2026

All candidates must have a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before starting work.
