Engage Education is working in partnership with a well-established Primary Academy in Denton, part of a highly regarded Multi-Academy Trust, to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their expanding Resource Unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a specialist team supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism, speech and language needs, communication difficulties and associated learning needs. The Resource Unit provides a structured, nurturing environment whilst ensuring pupils remain connected to mainstream school life where appropriate. The academy is known for its inclusive ethos, high expectations and commitment to ensuring every child receives the support they need to succeed.
About the Role
- Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups throughout the school day
- Deliver tailored learning activities that meet each child’s individual needs and EHCP outcomes
- Promote communication, independence and emotional regulation through structured routines and positive relationships
- Support pupils both within the Resource Unit and during planned integration into mainstream classrooms
- Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO, therapists and wider pastoral team
- Help prepare engaging resources and adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
- Encourage positive behaviour through consistent, nurturing and restorative approaches
- Create a safe, calm and inclusive environment where every child can thrive
