Help shape children’s first experience of school in a nurturing and supportive Early Years setting. Engage Education is working in partnership with a welcoming Good-rated, one-form entry primary school in Ashton-under-Lyne to recruit an enthusiastic EYFS Teaching Assistant. This friendly school is proud of its close-knit community and provides a warm, inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.

As part of the Early Years team, you’ll play a vital role in supporting children as they begin their educational journey. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to further develop their career within Early Years education.

About the Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support teaching and learning within the Reception classroom
  • Work with individuals and small groups to develop early literacy, numeracy and communication skills
  • Support children through play-based learning and continuous provision
  • Help create a stimulating and engaging learning environment both indoors and outdoors
  • Encourage children’s social, emotional and personal development through positive interactions
  • Assist with observations and contribute to monitoring children’s progress
  • Work closely with the class teacher to ensure every child receives the support they need to flourish
