Year 1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Ofsted Good Primary School, Mitcham
About the role: Engage Education are looking for a dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive, Ofsted Good primary school in Mitcham. This role involves 1:1 support for a pupil with SEN, so any previous experience supporting children with additional needs will be a strong advantage. The position is full-time and ongoing.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing 1:1 SEN support for a pupil in Year 1
- Helping the child access learning and stay engaged
- Supporting the class teacher with daily routines
- Working with small groups when required
- Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience supporting children with SEN and/or 1:1 needs
- Previous work with KS1 pupils, ideally Year 1
- Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping young learners
- A Level 2 or 3 support staff qualification (desirable)
