We’re looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Mitcham for the 2026/27 academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a genuine difference to the learning, development and wellbeing of pupils with additional needs.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting pupils individually and in small groups to access the curriculum
- Assisting teachers with differentiated activities and targeted interventions
- Helping to create an inclusive classroom environment in which every pupil can thrive
- Supporting pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs
- Monitoring pupils’ progress and providing feedback to teachers and the school’s SEN team
- Encouraging pupils to develop their confidence, independence and communication skills
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or educational setting
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification would be beneficial but is not essential
- Patience, adaptability and a genuine passion for helping children achieve their potential
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and parents
- Availability to begin a long-term position in September 2026
