At Engage, we’re working with schools in Oldham to recruit daily Cover Supervisors who can support on a supply basis to cover planned and unplanned sickness. You can set your own availability each week, so we welcome applications from those available part-time or full-time.
About the role
You will be covering lessons across the school to either relieve classroom teachers for PPA time or for general sickness.
Requirements
- Degree required – experience as a cover supervisor not mandatory.
- Some experience with young people (e.g., support workers, youth workers).
- Personable and adaptable to challenging behaviour situations.
- All applicants must have a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check before starting work.
Your Role as a Cover Supervisor
- Supervising students and ensuring they complete set tasks.
- Managing behaviour.
- Assisting pupils when they have questions.
- Following the school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies.
- Collecting completed work and handing it to the Head of the Department.
- Providing feedback on the lesson and pupils.
