Support Staff – Secondary School Additional Needs Provision

Location: Wakefield, WF7

Full-Time | Long-Term | Temp to Perm

We are seeking committed, resilient, and compassionate Support Staff to join a specialist provision supporting secondary‑aged students with additional needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives within a nurturing and structured educational environment. The Role

  • You will work closely with students who require additional support to access learning, regulate emotions, develop social skills and build independence across the school day.
  • Support will take place both within classrooms and within a dedicated specialist setting.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting students in lessons to remain engaged and focused
  • Encouraging independence, resilience and positive behaviour
  • Assisting with emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Building strong, professional relationships with students
  • Supporting interventions, social activities and structured routines
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and pastoral staff
