We are currently working with a welcoming and highly supportive specialist school in Lambeth that is urgently seeking a committed SEND Teaching Assistant / Behavioural Specialist to support secondary-aged pupils, with an immediate start available.
Role and responsibilities
About the role:
- Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), both verbal and non-verbal
- Moderate to severe learning difficulties
- Complex needs and associated behaviours
The setting caters for young people who require a highly structured, nurturing environment. Staff work closely with pupils to promote independence, communication, emotional regulation, and positive engagement with learning.
We are keen to hear from applicants who have:
- Experience supporting students with severe ASC and/or profound and multiple learning difficulties, or
- A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs
- Experience with Theatre in Education (TIE), creative workshops, or expressive/interactive approaches to learning is highly desirable.
A proactive, patient, and relationship-focused approach is essential, as building trust and consistency with pupils is central to the role.
