Are you a qualified Science Teacher looking for a permanent part time position? Whether you’re an experienced teacher or an ECT, this opportunity could be the ideal next step for you. We are working with a supportive and welcoming school in the Barking and Dagenham area, which is seeking a Science Teacher to start in September 2026 on a permanent, part time basis – 3 days per week.
About the role
The successful applicant will be joining a team of highly experienced teachers within a successful Science department. This role is based in an inner London school in the heart of East London. The school has a huge focus on student and staff wellbeing and follows a mutual respect approach to behaviour. They are a school passionate about working with their local community and look for teachers who want to teach students who may face challenges. The school has catered for their staff workload and wellbeing as a top priority for their SLT. Teachers’ contact hours are reasonable and compare well against other local schools, you receive a staff breakfast once a week, and emails are limited between 7am-6pm on weekdays only to allow staff time to keep a healthy work-life balance.
About you
- A qualified teacher with a formal teaching qualification (ECTs will be considered for this role)
- Confident teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 to a range of abilities
- A passion for your subject and education in general
- Ability to think on your feet and adapt to new environments
- A desire to work as a team with the rest of the department and the school
