I am currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist (HCPC Registered) to work across the Hertfordshire area. This is a flexible, long-term opportunity with the potential for ongoing work.
Hours: 1-2 hours per week within school hours on a Friday afternoon, offering flexibility around your existing commitments.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist with experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs. The successful candidate will support children and adolescents with a range of needs, helping them to develop independence and maximise their ability to access and engage in education and everyday activities.
The role will involve working collaboratively with schools, families and wider multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality occupational therapy assessment and intervention. Responsibilities may include:
- Assessment
- Individual and group interventions
- Developing therapy programmes
- Advising school staff
- Working collaboratively with other professionals to support pupils’ functional and educational needs
The successful candidate will need to be confident working independently while also being able to build strong relationships with education staff and other members of the wider therapy and multidisciplinary team. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a flexible position that can fit around other professional commitments.
The successful candidate will have:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Experience working with children and/or young people
- Experience of working with children with SEN and/or additional needs
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider multidisciplinary team
- A proactive and flexible approach
- A commitment to delivering high-quality, child-centred therapy
