Engage Education is recruiting SEND Teaching Assistants to work in a number of welcoming and inclusive primary schools across Haringey from September 2026.

The Role

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2.

• Support children with a range of additional needs, including

  • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and encourage participation in lessons.
  • Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social development.
  • Implement strategies set out in Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), where appropriate.
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents to ensure pupils receive the support they need.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment.
  • We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
  • A genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
