The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), speech and language needs, and associated communication difficulties.
- Support pupils with their learning, emotional regulation, social development, and independence.
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver personalised support.
- Help create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.
- Support pupils with personal care where required (training will be provided if needed).
- Encourage positive behavior using a consistent and nurturing approach.
- The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who
- Has experience working with children or young people with SEND, either in education, care, youth work, or a similar setting.
- Is calm, resilient, and able to build positive relationships with pupils.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to supporting every child to achieve their potential.
- Holds GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent (desirable).
