Engage Education is recruiting a Secondary Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic and inclusive secondary school in Haringey from September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced Teaching Assistants, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to develop a rewarding career in education.
Working alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff, you’ll play a vital role in supporting students both academically and personally, helping them build confidence and achieve success in the classroom.
The Role
As a Secondary Teaching Assistant, you will
- Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4 within lessons and through targeted interventions.
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils who require additional academic or pastoral guidance.
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging, inclusive, and well-structured lessons.
- Help prepare classroom resources and support learning activities.
- Encourage positive behaviour, resilience, and independent learning.
- Support students with varying learning needs, including those with SEND where required.
- Build positive relationships with students, teachers, parents, and external professionals.
- Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.
- We’re Looking For
- Experience working with young people in schools, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, sports coaching, childcare, or similar settings is desirable.
- A positive, patient, and proactive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to motivate and engage secondary-aged students.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
