Engage Education is recruiting Cover Teachers to work in a range of welcoming and supportive secondary schools across Bexley from September 2026. These opportunities are ideal for qualified teachers, Early Career Teachers (ECTs), or experienced Cover Supervisors looking to step into a teaching role.

As a Cover Teacher, you will deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and continue making progress in the absence of their usual teacher.

The Role

  • Deliver pre-planned lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and create a positive learning environment.
  • Ensure students remain on task and complete the work set.
  • Adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of different learners.
  • Provide feedback to teaching staff following each lesson.
  • Uphold school policies, including safeguarding and behaviour procedures.

We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience teaching or supervising students within a secondary school setting.
  • Confident classroom management skills.
  • Flexibility to teach across a range of subjects.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A professional, reliable, and adaptable approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
