Engage Education are currently looking for a 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant to work at a mainstream primary school in Leeds specifically with children who have Autism. Starting in September, the school requires an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with children with additional needs. This is a full‑time (Monday to Friday) 12‑week temp‑to‑perm position.

Your Role:

  • Supporting learners on a one‑to‑one basis, often with complex learning needs
  • Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
  • Providing feedback to teachers and parents
  • Assisting pupils with Autism, SEMH, ADHD

What you will need:

  • A range of behaviour management techniques
  • Previous experience working with learners with a range of needs
  • The ability to engage a young person in learning through a variety of methods
  • The commitment to work at the school for a long period of time
  • A resilient, positive attitude
