Engage Education is currently working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive special school in Pudsey that is seeking a dedicated Autism Support Worker to join their team from September.
About the Role
You will be supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including:
- Autism – both verbal and non-verbal
- Moderate to severe learning difficulties
- Complex needs and profound multiple learning difficulties (PMLD)
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support, promote engagement in learning, and help create a positive and inclusive environment for all pupils.
The Ideal Candidate
We welcome applications from individuals who:
- Have experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs
- Have a strong understanding of Autism and complex learning needs
- Are patient, caring, and committed to making a positive difference
- Can build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and families
- Are proactive, adaptable, and able to use their initiative
Experience in Theatre in Education (TIE), youth work, care work, workshops, or similar child-focused settings would be highly beneficial but is not essential.
