PART TIME Science Teacher Required for Secondary School in Barking and Dagenham. Are you a qualified Science Teacher looking for a permanent part time position? Whether you’re an experienced teacher or an ECT, this opportunity could be the ideal next step for you. We are working with a supportive and welcoming school in the Barking and Dagenham area, which is seeking a Science Teacher to start in September 2026 on a permanent, part time basis – 3 days per week.

About the role:

  • The successful applicant will be joining a team of highly experienced teachers within a successful Science department.
  • This role is based in an inner London school in the heart of East London.
  • The school has a huge focus on student and staff wellbeing and follows a mutual respect approach to behaviour.
  • They are a school passionate about working with their local community and look for teachers who want to teach students who may face challenges.
  • The school has catered for their staff workload and wellbeing as a top priority for their SLT.
  • Teachers’ contact hours are reasonable and compare well against other local schools, you receive a staff breakfast once a week, and emails are limited between 7am-6pm on weekdays only to allow staff time to keep a healthy work-life balance.

About you:

  • A qualified teacher with a formal teaching qualification (ECTs will be considered for this role).
  • Confident teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 to a range of abilities.
  • A passion for your subject and education in general.
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt to new environments.
  • A desire to work as a team with the rest of the department and the school.
