Engage Education is recruiting an Inclusion Mentor for a secondary school in Ashford, Surrey, starting in September 2026.

We are looking for a resilient, proactive and compassionate individual to support students who need additional guidance to remain engaged in education.

This role is ideal for someone who is confident managing behaviour, building positive relationships and supporting students to overcome barriers to learning.

The Role

As an Inclusion Mentor, you will

  • Support students who require additional behavioural, emotional or pastoral intervention.
  • Work closely with the school’s Inclusion and Pastoral teams to implement tailored support plans.
  • Build strong, professional relationships with students to improve attendance, behaviour and engagement.
  • Support students both in lessons and within the school’s inclusion provision.
  • Encourage positive behaviour through consistency, patience and high expectations.
  • Help students develop resilience, confidence and the skills needed to succeed in school.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents and external agencies where appropriate to ensure students receive the right support.

We’re looking for someone who

  • Has experience working with young people in education, youth work, mentoring, coaching or a similar environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and can confidently manage challenging situations.
  • Is calm, resilient and solution-focused.
  • Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Can motivate students and encourage positive choices.
  • Is passionate about inclusion and ensuring every young person has the opportunity to achieve.
