About the role

Are you an experienced Humanities Teacher with QTS who is seeking a new opportunity in the new academic year? We are working with a school in Richmond-upon-Thames to recruit a Humanities Teacher who can commit to the position for the entirety of the academic year (and beyond!), teaching a variety of KS3 and KS4 Humanities subjects. This is a long-term position starting in September 2026.

The school is focused on providing the highest quality of education, and all members of staff are expected to strive for excellence in everything they do. The students consistently attain high standards and their behaviour in lessons and around the school is good.

  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality Humanities lessons across subjects such as History, Geography and Religious Studies, fostering curiosity, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of the world and its diverse cultures.
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress, using data to inform teaching, address misconceptions and support all learners in achieving their full potential.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour, high expectations, respectful discussion and student wellbeing.
  • Differentiating teaching to meet the needs of students of all abilities, including those with SEND, EAL and higher-attaining learners, ensuring equitable access to the Humanities curriculum.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the Humanities department by supporting curriculum development, educational visits, enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities that enhance students’ learning experiences.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to promote outstanding outcomes, encourage active citizenship and ensure every student is supported to succeed both academically and personally.
