Are you a passionate and driven Science educator ready to lead a thriving department? An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious individual to join a vibrant and forward-thinking secondary school in Milton Keynes as Head of Science.
This is a key leadership position within the school, responsible for driving excellence in Science teaching and learning across all key stages. The successful candidate will be a committed professional with proven leadership experience and a track record of securing strong outcomes for students. Whether your expertise lies in Biology, Chemistry or Physics, your specialism will be welcomed and supported.
The role involves:

Leading the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Science department

Modelling and promoting high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4, and, where appropriate, Sixth Form

Coaching and supporting staff to continually develop their practice and secure positive progress for all learners

Planning and delivering an engaging and inclusive curriculum that meets the needs of all students

Ensuring high-quality assessment, tracking and intervention systems are in place to drive achievement

Contributing to whole-school improvement and supporting wider school priorities
What we’re looking for:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Significant experience teaching Science, with the ability to inspire students across the age and ability range

Demonstrated leadership experience with a clear impact on teaching standards and pupil outcomes

A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people

The ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with colleagues, students and parents
