Engage Education are currently working in partnership with a local SEND school on an exciting new Behavioural Support Assistant position specifically to support learners with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs in the Hastings area. Starting immediately, the school is looking for an SEMH Support Assistant to join them on a long term basis. If successful during the probationary period, this will lead into a permanent role. This role is within one of our Alternative Provisions meaning there will be a range of behavioural needs. Having previous experience working with people with challenging behaviours – both children and adults – will be a strong advantage! Anyone from a care, support worker, security or youth worker is encouraged to apply. This position would also be well suited to anyone without experience but with the right qualities – particularly being very resilient! We can provide training to any candidates who show a real passion and eagerness to learn.
Your Role:
- Supporting learners on a one-to-one basis often with complex behavioural needs
- Working with other support staff to engage pupils in class
- Providing feedback to teachers and parents
