Engage Education is recruiting Graduate Teaching Assistants to work in a number of secondary schools across Greenwich from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, or youth work and want to gain hands‑on experience in a supportive secondary school environment.
Whether you have recently completed your degree or have experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or volunteering, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will
- Support teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
- Provide one-to-one and small group interventions to help students improve their academic progress.
- Support students with varying learning needs, including those with SEND, where appropriate.
- Help prepare learning resources and assist with classroom organisation.
- Encourage positive behaviour and promote a productive learning environment.
- Build positive relationships with students, supporting both their academic and personal development.
- Gain exposure to classroom teaching and school life while working alongside experienced educators.
- The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who
- Holds a degree in any subject (core subjects and STEM graduates are particularly encouraged to apply).
- Has a genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is proactive, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.
- Can build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Has experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, volunteering, or similar (desirable but not essential).
