Engage Education is recruiting Behaviour Mentors to work in a number of secondary schools across Greenwich from September 2026.
This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are resilient, empathetic, and committed to supporting students with behavioural, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Whether you have previous school experience or have worked in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or care, we’d love to hear from you.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group mentoring to students who require additional behavioural and emotional support.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, resilience, and personal development.
- Support students in managing their behaviour both inside and outside the classroom.
- Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and safeguarding leads to implement behaviour support strategies.
- Promote positive behaviour, attendance, and wellbeing across the school.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where students can succeed.
The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with young people, particularly those with behavioural, SEMH, or additional support needs.
- Is calm, patient, and confident when managing challenging behaviour.
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with students.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is passionate about making a positive impact on young people’s lives.
- Is considering a long-term career in education, youth work, social care, or psychology (desirable but not essential).
