Engage Education is recruiting a Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a high-performing and supportive secondary school in Tower Hamlets from September 2026.

Working alongside experienced teachers and pastoral staff, you’ll gain invaluable classroom experience while supporting students to achieve their academic and personal potential.
The Role
As a Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will
- Support students across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to work with Key Stage 5 where appropriate.
- Provide 1:1 and small group intervention sessions to raise attainment.
- Support classroom teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
- Assist students who require additional academic, behavioural, or pastoral support.
- Help prepare learning resources and classroom activities.
- Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience, and independent learning skills.
- Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
- We’re Looking For
- A degree in any subject (core subjects such as English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages, Psychology, Business, or Economics are particularly desirable).
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, proactive, and enthusiastic attitude.
- Previous experience working with young people through tutoring, mentoring, coaching, youth work, or volunteering is desirable but not essential.
- The ability to build strong relationships and work effectively as part of a team.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
