We are working with secondary schools across Tower Hamlets that are seeking enthusiastic and committed Graduate Academic Mentors / Teaching Assistants to join their teams from September. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are passionate about supporting young people and want to gain valuable classroom experience.
The Role
As a Graduate Academic Mentor / Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and small-group academic support to students.
- Support pupils across KS3 and KS4 with their learning and progress.
- Work alongside teachers to deliver targeted interventions.
- Support students who may require additional help with their studies.
- Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning habits.
- Assist in lessons and provide additional classroom support where required.
- Support students with exam preparation and revision.
- Build positive relationships with pupils and act as a positive role model.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.

About You
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold a degree or be a recent graduate.
- Have a strong academic background in at least one subject.
- Be passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be confident working with students on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
- Be patient, approachable and able to build positive relationships.
- Have a professional and proactive attitude.
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.
