Engage Education is working with a welcoming and supportive school in Hailsham to recruit a full‑time School Receptionist for a maternity cover position. This is an excellent opportunity for a friendly and organised individual to join a busy school office and become the first point of contact for visitors, parents, students and staff.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of the school reception and administration function.

About the role:
  • Managing the front reception area and welcoming visitors professionally
  • Answering and directing telephone calls and email enquiries
  • Supporting general school administration and office duties
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating school systems
  • Assisting with attendance and student sign‑in procedures
  • Supporting communication with parents, staff and external agencies
  • Ensuring safeguarding and visitor procedures are followed at all times
  • Providing administrative support to wider school staff where required
About you:
  • Previous receptionist or administration experience is desirable
  • Friendly, professional and approachable manner
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and school systems such as SIMS or Bromcom
  • Ability to work efficiently within a busy school environment
  • Reliable with strong attention to detail
