Are you a passionate and creative Design & Technology Teacher looking for a new opportunity this September?
We are working with a welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Ashford, Surrey that is seeking a dedicated Design & Technology Teacher to join its successful department from September 2026.
The successful candidate will primarily teach Food Technology (Catering) alongside General Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4.
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students through practical, engaging lessons while becoming part of a supportive and forward-thinking school community.
The Role
As the successful Design & Technology Teacher, you will
- Plan and deliver engaging Food Technology and General DT lessons.
- Teach practical cooking, nutrition and food preparation skills.
- Deliver high-quality Design & Technology lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Encourage creativity, innovation and independent thinking.
- Assess, monitor and track student progress.
- Maintain a safe and organised learning environment, ensuring health and safety procedures are followed during practical lessons.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop an engaging curriculum.
- The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a teacher who
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching Food Technology/Catering and General Design &Technology.
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management skills.
- Has a passion for inspiring young people through practical learning.
- Is committed to raising achievement and delivering high-quality teaching.
- Can contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
