The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher.
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour and ensure students remain focused and engaged throughout the lesson.
- Create a calm, purposeful and productive learning environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour confidently, using the school’s behaviour policy consistently.
- Build positive relationships with students while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement, behaviour and lesson outcomes.
- The Ideal Candidate
We’re looking for someone who
- Has previous experience working with young people in a school, youth work, coaching, mentoring or similar setting.
- Demonstrates excellent behaviour management and can confidently manage challenging behaviour.
- Is resilient, calm under pressure and able to think on their feet.
- Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can establish positive relationships while maintaining high expectations.
- Is reliable, professional and committed to supporting students’ success.
